Ash Studios is a social practice project initiated by artists Darryl Ratcliff and Fred Villanueva in 2012. Uniting the South Dallas, Old East Dallas, and Deep Ellum communities – Ash Studios provides a safe space for creatives of color, communities of color, and allies to create and experience culture. With the support of hundreds of creatives and dozens of core supporters, Ash has been able to impact over 15,000 people since its inception. Currently we are undergoing a rapid expansion to be able to better serve our community and impact the City of Dallas in even more thoughtful ways. We are looking for smart, dedicated, passionate, and intentional people to intern with Ash Studios in the following areas:
Marketing/PR Intern: Do you have strong opinions about the best social media platform to reach your tribe? Do you love going to events, meeting new people, and following up? Do you want to learn more about the cultural media environment in Dallas?
Art Studio Intern: Do you enjoy sculpture or painting? Do you like to build things, break a sweat, and make something beautiful? Are you ready to engage studio practice in innovative ways?
Event Intern: Do you love events? Do you want to learn how to produce and manage events?
Social Practice Intern: Do you want to learn more about the emerging field of social practice? Are you a jack of all trades? Does the word transdisciplinary mean anything to you? Are you passionate about racial justice and equity? Do you want to work with creatives of color in Dallas?
